Since the depreciation of prices in the digital camera market, digital photography have been a hobby not anymore by a chosen few, but by anyone who can hold a camera. Film, how ever have been pushed back into the dark and only a few venture into using it. Well, I tried to test the waters by buying a film SLR and had a great time. Find out how after the jump.

Thai Cha Yen
Getting tired of those milk tea shops out there who offer the same selection of beverages? Why not try Thailand's famous own version of milk tea, the cha-yen (Thai tea) that tastes totally different from the other milk teas in town.

New Year, New Blog Content?
So it's 2012 already? I haven't posted here since October 31, 2011 and it sure was a very long time ago (insert last year joke here) Anyway, to all my old time followers (are there any?) You may notice that my site has undergone a facelift. Yep, the old design was not not allowed by the Blogger team so I managed to get a template and edit some points of it so that my blog don't look like sh*t.
I think most of my followers got tired already because no decent update was made here for a while. I guess I owe it to my laziness and recent indulgence to photography. So as part of my "New Year's resolution" I'll be updating this site at least once or twice a week.
So what would be the topic for today's blog post?
Well..I'll just have a recap of what I've acheived last year and what would be my goal this year. Sounds boring right? Just bear with me here. This is my first post for 2012 anyway.

K Dental Studio
The usual reaction you will hear when you learn that you need to visit the dentist is either a sigh or an awe. I know, because that was my initial reaction reaction when I learn that I was invited into a free consultation to a dentist. All that changed when I finally arrived there, everything changed.
K Dental Studio as the name implied, is not a dental clinic at all. As you enter the studio, you will be greeted by a relaxing ambiance that you will never see in any other dental facility in the Philippines. There's a relaxing room and comfy sofas that you can relax on while waiting for your turn. The dentist, Dr. Karla Domingo, is a skilled practitioner and has a pleasing personality to boot. My stigma to dental clinics and dentists were finally gone when I met Dr. K and with a pretty face like that, I don't mind being on her operating chair all the time.
Come visit the K Dental Studio at 1409 Medical Plaza Ortigas, San Miguel Ave., Pasig, Philippines and experience a one of a kind dental ecstasy.
The studio is open on Mon - Sat: 10:00 am-6:00 pm, Visit their website at http://www.kdentalstudio.com/ and you can also like their Facebook page

Why isn't Siopao Master blogging a lot recently?

Some readers had emailed me (I have readers?! srsly?!) and was asking why am I not updating my site like I used to. Well some factors had
Reason #1
Been active with some events lately, the latest was the disappointing LG sale which wasted my whole Saturday. "Why haven't you blog about it man?", you might ask. Well, I kinda posted it on the GameOPS website. I wanted to add more traffic to my website, but I'd rather post it on GameOPS because I'm 100% sure a lot of people will read it (contrary to some people I know that believed that GameOPS is just a site being run by gay people and losers, poor morons)
Reason #2
Microblogging sites like twitter and plurk were aleady my outlet for some ideas and stuff. Heck, I can post something there even when I'm eating or doing some other stuff.Only those ideas longer than 140 characters are posted here on my blog. So yeah, blame them for the lack of content here (lol)
Reason #3
I'm not the type of blogger who post anything just to have some visitors coming here. I post what interests me and share it with all. I don't post hate content like someone who wrote a 6,000+ words blog which nobody gave a damn reading. I don't also made it checked by others for grammatical errors because I know my English (heh) So yeah, ultimately, my third reason is.. I don't blog crap.
Reason #4
Some of my older posts are still visited until today (like The Rise and Fall of Sandara Park and What Makes Me Proud to be a Filipino) So yey for traffic!
Reason #5
I'm just plain lazy
That is all.

Toycon, Toy Story 3 and being sick
I was supposed to write an article about The 9th Philippine Toycon and a movie review of Toy Story 3, but due to my officemates always wondering why am I the only one who doesn't get sick finally got answered by two days of fever and a day of headache. Anyway, I'll just cram all those supposed to be posts into this one entry instead. Read on baby!

The 9th Philippine Toycon
What can I say? It was a damn success! First time in my entire life that I took part in not just one exhibit, but two! Otakai Figure Society and GameOPS was the two booths I was talking about. Otakai once again proved that Anime figs never loses their charm especially to the girls. GameOPS made you relived your childhood memories by playing Duck Hunt or Super Mario 1. Anyway, Toycon itself makes you feel like a kid once more with all those toys and lolis all over the place. Congratulations to the Toycon staff and see you all next year!

Toy Story 3
Finally, the much awaited conclusion to the Toy Story franchise. It was not long ago (actually 1995) when we first saw Toy Story. The first full 3D animated cartoon by Disney and Pixar. The sequel, Toy Story 2 was shown last 1999, the end of the millennium. It took almost a century for the third installment but it was really worth the wait. Some may think that ten years was way too long, the fans who loved it back in 1999 outgrew it already! Wrong! In fact, when I was lining up to buy a ticket and accidentally it's Father's Day, Those young dads introduced Toy Story to their children as if passing down a torch to the next generation. Isn't that cool? Also, the movie has shown the younger generation what do our toys look like back then. Come on, you felt nostalgia when you see those toys in the movie. I'm definetly buying the whole set on DVD! And on a final note: Spanish Buzz rocks!
So that's it folks! See you all around sometime soon on my website (hope you still reading)

3. Very well coordinated
I left my heart at 1st BU..
thank you guys for the memories....

New office New project
The Communications Platform and Communications Application of the 1st Business Unit now shares the same floor. Not only that I'm on a new office, I'm on a new project. A different team and different tasks to perform. Thanks to the team building last Saturday and Sunday, it won't be hard to adapt to my new team mates. Hajimemashite WebCC! Yoroshiku o-negai shimasu!
1st BU team building 2009
Last Saturday we held our team building at Taytay Rizal. It was my first ever team building despite the fact that this is my third job. The activities that we had during the course of the team building strengthened our relationship with our office mates and breaking the barrier in everyone. What really amazed me was the participation of our top executives A.K.A. the Japanese. The peaker even pointed that it was a rare occassion for a top executive to join the rank and files on a "fun-filled" activity, not to mention the fact that they are foreigners. Because of this team building, I felt closer to all of my office mates and proved that there's no discrimination between us. I wish to experience more team buildings and other related activities here in Tsukiden.

The First Six Months

Today marks my sixth month on this company. So what happened during the last six months? What have I learned? What have I accomplished?
This is my third job since I last graduated on 2004. My two previous work were all in the academic field and this is my first time in the industry. It was a different experience. Once I was a teacher, now I'm part of the "rank and file" of an industrial company. They were asking me before why did I gave up my teaching profession. I was like the second highest rank in our academic office (next to the academic head) but I gave it all up. All I can say is, it was worth it. I was able to learn first hand what it is like to be a programmer / software engineer / design engineer. I wouldn't based it anymore from books or any publications, but from my experience. I would not based it anymore from theories but with actual experience, heck if I become a teacher today, I can improve the things that I was supposed to be teaching. I can be more effective than before. I can now share things based from experience not from reading it from a book or from the internet. More after the jump.
The other question that they were askin me was "How's the job?". Well, from what I have experience over the last six months, it was fun and rewarding. Fun, because I met new friends and rewarding because I learned new things. We learn new things everyday even if you were working for the last nth of years. I found also people who share the same interest that I have like toy collecting and photography, for me, this means a lot to me.
So, did I made the right decision? Yes, and it's worth the sacrifice. I may not be part of the academe and I'm currently pursuing something new. the experiences and friendships that I've met along the way helped me to who I am today. I now officially make myself part of the Tsukiden family. Yoroshiku o-negai shimasu!

The Day That I Played Dota Again
After 2 years of being deprived from DotA (Defense of the Ancients) I got the chance to play again yesterday with my officemates. I sucked terribly. I was shocked with all the changes that took place since my absence. New heroes, new hero skills, new recipes, new items, new layout and a lot more. The first game I chose Mortred as my hero and before, I can dominate with her (she's my first ever character and favorite, hence my Friendster background). But yesterday wasa different story, I'm supposed to build a power threads but I end up one ingredient short, turns out, you need another item for the threads, The bracer was the same, but it took me a while to find the ingredients because the shops were rearranged.. I guess I need to practice again so I can keep up with my officemates. Better download the new maps.

Tsukiden Welcome Party 2009
I have been with Tsukiden Software Philippines Inc. (TSPI) for just two months and I felt that I've been here for two years. What more to make all the newbies like me be fully welcomed by having a party in our honor! New employees from June 2008 - June 2009 were honored on this unforgettable event that was held at Fun Ranch Tiendesitas, Ortigas. The theme of the party was Back to School + in honor of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. All the new bloods were divided to seven groups and each performed in front of the whole TSPI community. I call this the "Rite of Passage". I was part of Group 6 A.K.A. "Siopao and the Half Blood Prince". We won third place, Group 3 placed second and Group 4 bagged the winning spot. I'll be posting some pics sometime soon because I haven't brought my camera hahaha.

June 26 was an effing day
Many things happened yesterday, heck I didn't have the enthusiasm to post it due to depression I guess. First of all, Michael Jackson, the king of pop, died due to cardiac arrest. The world is blanketed with sorrow as the pop icon will never do the moonwalk again. Next, Farrah Fawcett from the original Charlie's Angels succumbed to cancer. Finally, my cellphone was stolen from me from Cubao MRT station by a level 99 thief with a max skill level of steal. He managed to get it from inside my bag in the midst of the jam-packed passengers. Take note, I didn't even brought it out in public. But as they say, today is a new day and I do hope it will get better

Tsukiden Day 3

My second day at Tsukiden
Adik kasi si Jhe Ann eh, labo no? hahaha

First day at Tsukiden

Today marked my first day as an employee of an IT industry company. Tsukiden Software Philippines Inc. is my new home. Design Engineer is my new job. Today was all about company policy, rules and regulations and the code of conduct. We filled up lots of form for the ATM account, TIN transfer (for me) and for the benefits. We were issued a proximity card to be used around the building and tomorrow I'll get my company ID. I will be going to the 1st business unit tomorrow for my team orientation and introduction.

My Last Day as a Teacher
April 8, 2009 will always be remembered as the day Great Teacher Siopao gave up his powers as a teacher. My whole Informatics family gave me a heart warming farewell as I packed my things and leave the place I once called home. They say that the only way to know if you became a successful teacher or co-faculty is when you changed the lives of your students and colleagues in such a way that they will treat you with respect no matter what happens. My journey as a teacher finally ended and a new path looms before me. Will I be a successful programmer or teaching is the only job for me? Goodbye doesn't mean the end, it's just the beginning of a new page in my life.
This is Sir Siopao signing off...

Matters of the Heart

It's been a week since she dumped me but the pain is still searing there on the hole in my heart where she once dwell.
Why is it I'm the only one affected? As if nothing happened. She still lives cheerfully after each day while I'm still shocked by the words she said. "Friends lang talaga nararamdaman ko sayo eh. nothing more" Like the same scene keeps looping back and forth in my memory and the pain keeps returning. Alas, we were never been lovers and now we are not even friends. The consequences you get for falling in love...

My First Online Purchase
Actually my first online purchase dated back January 14, 2009 but I officially got the item today from the local post office. All thanks to Play Asia.
I ordered from Play Asia immediately after I got my Visa credit card from HSBC. Yes, fresh from activation. I chose Neon Genesis Evangelion 1/7 Scale Pre-Painted Statue: Asuka Langley Gothic Lolita Version (Crimson Version) as my first online order to commemorate my first figure before which is the black one. I chose SAL as my shipping for it is free from Play Asia.
