Filipino Stereotypes

Stereotype

Function: noun
: something conforming to a fixed or general pattern; especially : an often oversimplified or biased mental picture held to characterize the typical individual of a group

Filipinos nowadays tend to stereotype the work of every individual. If you are working at Makati you are a "professional" compared to people working decently on other places.

If you work as a call center agent, you are a "high earning" individual compared to other jobs. No more "I'm proud to be an Engineer" or "I am an architect!" only "I work at a call center, I can buy whatever I want" and "Nursing is the only course here in the Philippines." I am a teacher by profession, and some of my so called "friends" look at me as "an employee who earns less" compared to their fat paycheck. I admit my salary is lower than his, but I love my job. I love sharing the knowledge I learned and I'm happy seeing their faces when discovering something new. If all of the people think like my "friend", The world now really is controlled by money.

Kinda sleepy lately

For the past couple of weeks I've been sleepy. Even though I went to bed early, I always wake up and felt still sleepy. They told it was the "paglilihi" effect. You see my buddy a work is pregnant and I was the one always with her. Don't know if these things are true or there's a scientific explanation to this. Damn, I've drank 2 cups of coffee already and still sleepy

Is it time to give up?

It was almost a year since it happened. We parted ways without saying anything to each other. She completely erased me from her life. Am I fighting for a war which defeat is inevitable? Does love really conquers all or it is just an illusion? Maybe I should forget her, maybe I should not wait for her to text me even a single "Hi". It is really painful to know that the person who you cherished the most, doesn't even give a damn to your existence...Damn...I haven't even told her how much I love her....

Quake killed 12k in China

Yes guys, that is not a typo. 12,000 died and 18,000 are still missing due to a quake that shook Dujiangyan China. Story after the jump.

The official Xinhua News Agency said the death toll exceeded 12,000 in Sichuan province alone, and 18,645 were still buried in debris in the city of Mianyang, near the epicenter of Monday's massive, 7.9-magnitude quake.

The Sichuan Daily newspaper reported on its Web site that more than 26,000 people were injured in Mianyang.

The numbers of casualties was expected to rise due to the remoteness of the areas affected by the quake and difficulty in finding buried victims.

The quake was China's deadliest since 1976, when 240,000 people were killed in the city of Tangshan, near Beijing in 1976. Financial analysts said the quake would have only a limited impact on the country's booming economy.
